Jeju Plus International Environment Forum
Distinguished Guests,
We are pleased to invite you to the 2025 Jeju International Environment Plus Forum,
co-hosted with the Korea Environment Corporation on Jeju Island, which is actively advancing
the vision of “2040 Plastic Zero Jeju”. This forum will bring together diverse stakeholders to
engage in meaningful discussions on the environment and the future we share.
At a time when the world is facing the serious challenge of plastic pollution, global attention
is focused on developing concrete implementation measures to put an end to this threat.
Following the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5) for the United
Nations Treaty to End Plastic Pollution, held in Busan in November 2024, an
additional session (INC-5.2) is scheduled for August this year. The momentum for global collaboration is stronger than ever.
Since its launch in 2021, this forum has grown into a global platform for dialogue on a
wide range of environmental issues, including plastic waste, the climate crisis,
carbon neutrality, circular economy, the SDGs, and ESG management.
This year’s forum will be held under the theme: "Our Collective Actions Toward Plastic Zero".
It aligns with “Ending Plastic Pollution” (or #BeatPlasticPollution), the theme of the 2025 World
Environment Day campaign, which will also take place in Jeju this June. The forum will explore action
plans across the entire plastic value chain, including global responsibility and cooperation, corporate
transitions toward a circular economy, and embedding plastic-free practices into daily life for all. In addition,
it will feature insights and best practices from organizations that have proactively supported practical initiatives such as resource recycling.
We sincerely hope you will join us in this important gathering in support of solidarity and cooperation
for the environment, and lend your wisdom and experience to our shared journey toward a sustainable future
Thank you.
